Όταν σε ένα καράβι που βρίσκεται στον ωκεανό αρχίζουν να μπαίνουν νερά και κινδυνεύει αυτό να βυθιστεί, χρησιμοποιεί τα στεγανά του. Κλείνουν οι στεγανές πόρτες και όσοι είναι μέσα στον προβληματικό χώρο απλά πνίγονται. Το καράβι μετά πάει με ασφάλεια στο ναυπηγείο όπου και θα γίνουν οι απαραίτητες επισκευές. Οι ζημιές του όσο σοβαρές και αν είναι επιδιορθώνονται από τους εργατικούς ναυπηγούς. Οι συγγενείς των πνιγμένων μοιρολογούν για τα θύματα τους και η πλοιοκτήτρια εταιρεία εξαίρει πάντα την ιστορία των χαμένων και γενναίων ναυτικών…
