Are you returning back home with Aegean Airlines after seasonal vacations to Greece? Check your airplane seat; a little surprise might be waiting there just for you...
AEGEAN, Greece’s largest airline carrier, is helping everyday Greeks to give a tangible thank you to thousands of travellers visiting their country. The gift giving activation is called “Filepse Tous” (literally meaning “treat them” in Greek), and is a unique way for Greeks to express their thanks to people visiting their country by leaving them a little gift on their airplane seat.
AEGEAN’s goal is to promote a sense of gratitude and happiness amongst its passengers, carrying one last memory of being in Greece.
How it works
Greek citizens log on to www.filepsetous.gr and choose between six “filemata” (preselected gift bags including goods produced in Greece like Herbs, candy, nuts, and even olive oil cosmetics). They then pick a random international flight departing from Athens and a random seat, and before completing their offer, they create a personalized e-card with a special thank you note.
The gift and card are then packaged up and left on the plane’s seat for the lucky recipient to find after boarding.
Travellers receiving the gifts will even have the chance to thank the senders by uploading videos and/or photos using the hashtag #aGiftFromGreece on social media. All of these photos and videos are displayed at www.filepsetous.gr for the gift givers, and everyone else, to see, comment on and share.
This initiative is AEGEAN’s approach for showing Greeks’ gratitude to the travellers who visited Greece. “Filepse tous” is the company’s version of reviving a Greek tradition that dates back to ancient times, while AEGEAN wanted to capture some of that famous Greek hospitality.
We want to connect people, show them that we appreciate them for choosing us and ultimately give them one last great impression of Greece!
