UK in the Trap of Populism

Unfortunately, Teresa May continues to lead the United Kingdom towards a historical catastrophe with all her power. No matter her failure and criticism from all sides, supporters and opponents, she insists on walking in a dangerous path. It is exaggerating that she doesn’t understand that we are not living in the 19^th century anymore when India was a British colony. To the worse the disunion of the European Union is exactly what West’s rivals always wanted and she serves well. A strong Union linked with the United States both in values and fights could create the framework for a domination of democracy, liberty and freedom in our new World. Even before UK agreed to leave, France declared US as possible enemy equivalent to Russia and China. What a gift from Teresa May and Manuel Macron to the East spirit of authoritarianism indeed. 

Brexit was the result of a fraud referendum similar to populist Greek PM Tsipras' one in 2015. A decision from ignorant people was made without explaining to them the consequences as their leaders were obliged to do so. Moreover, it was the outcome of a sneaky policy of overwhelming EU with illegal immigrants and terrorists right afterwards Tsipras' accession to the power. Nowadays, when the nightmare of Brexit is imminent an irresponsible and autarchic Teresa May resorts as a final solution to UK citizens to take a still unknown burden to their loss. She denies a second thought because she is afraid of the result though she mentions the option of abandoning a no way-out policy.

As the dark nights pass and Brexit abettors enjoy UK and EU transformation to unidentified without common values  entities they are preparing for the next hit to Europe continent. While Teresa May or probably her successor will lead in the same way, EU will move faster to the hug of dark hybrid regimes making Europe a chessboard of political entities challenging each other. The final stage could not be other than violence and the seizure of "Helen of Troy" like in Homer’s poem of "Iliad".

Democracy is ruling for the common good and prosperity and Brexit referendum serves the opposite. Populism was always the "mother of all tragedies" in human's long history. What populists are afraid more in UK now is a new referendum, a chance for people and especially the ones who will live longer with Brexit to speak again globally and sincerely...
