The Armenian Who Stayed Behind, in Homage to Ancestors

 

Sarkis Teke is the last living native Armenian in a Turkish city that was once full of them. His forebears have long since gone in the years after the mass killings and deportation of 1.5 million ethnic Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
