Alitalia is honored to welcome His Holiness Pope Francis on board its
flights and to accompany him on his “Holy Trip” in Turkey that will
take place from 28 to 30 November.
The flight will be carried out with an Airbus A320 Alitalia named “Umberto Saba” which will take off from Rome Fiumicino airport next 28th November at 09.00 am. The flight will land at the international airport of Ankara at 13.00 a.m. The flight trip will continue the next day, 29 November, from Ankara at 9.30 a.m. and will land at Istanbul at 10.30 a.m.
Alitalia is honored to accompany His Holiness Pope Francis for the return flight too, on next 30th November. The flight will take off from Istanbul at 17.00 p.m. and it will land at Rome Ciampino at 18.40 p.m.

The crew will have three pilots: a Captain Supervisor of the flight, Roberto Germano, Director of Alitalia Flight Operations, a Captain on duty and a First Officer. There will be 6 flight attendants, chosen for their total professionalism and dedication throughout their professional career.
Alitalia is honored to be the airline chosen by the Holy See for the apostolic travels of His Holiness abroad and to put at the service of the papal delegation its reliability and the quality of its services. The collaboration between Alitalia and the Holy See began 50 years ago with the historic journey to the Holy Land by Paul VI in 1964.
