March 17 (Bloomberg) –- NASA’s Asteroid Hunter contest starts today:
If you can help find asteroids that might be headed in Earth’s general
direction, you could win up to $35,000. NASA wants to be better equipped
to prevent the global catastrophe of an asteroid impact, but NASA’s
partner in the contest, Planetary Resources Inc. (backed by James
Cameron and Eric Schmidt), has another, more lucrative reason for
wanting to crowdsource the search for space rocks. Bloomberg
Businessweek’s Sam Grobart reports. (Source: Bloomberg)
